The problem isn’t that we overthink. People can think (and talk) day and night and still feel good. In fact, our brains never stop working, whether or not words are involved. The problem is the quality, not the quantity, of our thoughts. Thoughts of stress, fear, anger, shame, criticism, and pressure are damaging even in the smallest quantities, whereas thoughts of love, compassion, and healing are uplifting in the greatest.
